Gambaran Kejadian Mata Kering Pada Penggunaan Lensa Kontak Lunak (Softlens)

Lensa kontak lunak (softlens) bersifat hydropolic seperti halnya busa atau spons yang menyerap air, lensa kontak membutuhkan air agar memiliki kelengkungan dan bentuk yang sempurna. Sebagai contoh lensa kontak dengan kadar air 58% artinya material lensa kontak tersebut hanya 42% sedangkan sisanya adalah air. Saat masih dalam kemasan, kebutuhan air tersebut diambil dari larutan peredamnya. Tapi pada saat digunakan di mata, lensa kontak akan mengambilnya dari air mata kita. Hal inilah yang membuat mata kadang terasa kering, terutama diakhir pemakaian. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui kuantitas air mata, tingkat pengetahuan dan perawatan Lensa Kontak Lunak (softlens). Dengan metode study literature yaitu cara yang dipakai untuk menghimpun data-data atau sumber-sumber yabg berhubungan dengan topik yang diangkat dalam penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian jurnal 1,2,4 san 5 kejadian mata kering dapat diukur menggunakan Tes Schirmer untuk mengetahui kuantitas air mata pada pengguna Lensa Kontak yang hasilnya rata-rata pengguna lensa kontak kuantitas air matanya lebih sedikit dibandingkan dengan non pengguna lensa kontak. Pada jurnal 3 untuk mengetahui kejadian mata kering pada pengguna lensa kontak dapat diukur dari tingkat pengetahuan responden tentang lensa kontak, dari mulai prosedur pemakaian dan perawatan lensa kontak.

Soft contact lenses (softlens) are hydropolic as well as foam or a sponge that absorbs water, contact lenses need water to have perfect curvature and shape. For example contact lenses with 58% water content means that contact lens material is only 42% while the rest is water. While still in the package, the water needs are taken from the dampening solution. But when used in the eye, contact lenses will take it from our tears. This is what makes the eyes sometimes feel dry, especially at the end of use. To determine the quantity of tears, the level of knowledge and care of Soft Contact Lenses (softlens). The study literature method is a method used to collect data or sources relating to the topics raised in research. Based on the results of the journal research 1,2,4 and 5 the incidence of dry eye can be measured using the Schirmer test to determine the quantity of tears in Contact Lens users with the result that the average contact lens user has less tear quantity compared to non contact lens users. In journal 3 to determine the incidence of dry eyes in contact lens users can be measured from the level of respondents' knowledge about contact lenses, from the start of the procedure for wearing contact lenses and care.
