One type of contraception that lots of Indonesia people choice is hormonal injections contraception, injectable Depo Medroxy Progesterone Acetat (DMPA) contraception and the highest frequency side effects of injectable contraception is the weight gain that complaints many by injectable DMPA acceptors. The weight gain experienced Injectable DMPA acceptors are generally not too large, which is between 1-5 kg in the first year. Average annual rise of 2.3 to 2.9 kg. Purpose of this research is to describe weight gain in Depo Medroxy Progesterone Acetate (DMPA) acceptors in the period May 18 to June 18, 2016. Research method descriptive observation used secondary data. Total population of 47 acceptors, sampling technique used accidental sampling. Data processing organized into frequency distribution table. Research Showed injectable DMPA acceptors age mostly (29.8%) are aged between 26-30 years. Most acceptors injectable DMPA (57.4%) experienced increase in weight and most acceptors injectable DMPA (55.5%), average increase in weight > 0-1 kg. Therefore health services at independent practice midwife expected to eveluate planning services, especially in providing counseling about side effects of DMPA contraception, especially regarding weight gain and acceptor should know and understand about the advantages and disadvantages of injectables DMPA contraception in order to choose the right contraception.
